My little girl is growing up so fast! Man! To see her up on stage, doing her thing is so moving for me. Her 3rd recital with The Dance Studio was by far the best I've seen them do. It wasn't without glitches and mess-ups but it was a wonderful show and Becca did great! She performed her National's routine and routine's in ballet, tap and jazz, as well as appearances with her Mini Company group. With a full week of rehearsals and 2 shows in one day, she was one pooped kiddo by the end of the day. Below, she's dressed and ready for ballet on performance day...
I don't know if it shows up or not in the below photo, but the muscle definition in Becca's arms, shoulders and upper back is INCREDIBLE! She's direct center of the photo in a brown tank top and blue shorts. I took this at final rehearsal the day before the shows and this was during ballet practice...
Below is a photo snapped by Carrie during the evening performance. Z-man was more than a little overwhelmed, this being his first recital experience, and Becca (the old pro) stayed with him for a bit, entertained him, and set him more at ease before the show started. Becca was dressed for her first number, the routine she'll perform with Mini Company later this month at Hollywood Vibe Nationals competition in Anaheim.
So, another dance year come and gone. Practices are still underway, however, as 22 dancers from the studio hone their dances for Nationals. Becca and I fly to CA on the 19th; the convention is the 20th to the 25th. I don't know what Bec is most excited for...Disneyland, competing again with Mini Company, taking new classes from the awesome HV faculty, seeing her Grandma C and Uncle Brendt, getting a whole week of mom's undivided attention, performing on state in Disneyland, flying on a plane, meeting talent scouts (I am NOT excited about this one!) She is just beside herself with excitement about the whole opportunity and experience.
