Carla, my beautiful Brazilian sister!!! I'm so sad to say goodbye to Carla. I have small regrets that we didn't seek out more time with one another, but she was kept quite busy with all her travels, with school and with friends, and I was busy with kids, hubby, store, Rhody, and just life. It's sad really because I should have realized how fast time goes by and that I was missing such an amazing opportunity to get to know Carla on a deeper level. She's pretty damn special and I'm just so thankful that I did get to spend as much time as I did getting to know her. I will miss her so much. My parents and Charlie and Jayne, her 2 host families in America, they are the truly fortunate ones. If I were able, I would have loved to have hosted Carla in my home, but I almost think being her host sister was better. I really feel I got to know her on an almost peer-level, where her host "parents" maybe did not. I got to know so much about Brazil that I never knew about through Carla and I WILL go there one day to visit her and meet her family. I better start workin on my Portugese because I don't think "Feliz Natal" is going to cut it!Carla, if you read this, I love you much and am so blessed to have met you, my sister!
As for my 16th picture of the day for Project 365, this pretty much sums up my life right now...
I'm working my tail off to get B and I ready to fly to Cali on Thursday (yes, the laundry did finally get completed so we could pack). I need to put in so many hours at the Cottage so I can get a paycheck to PAY for this blessed trip before I have to start paying for lessons again in September. They cycle is never-ending! I wouldn't change it for anything, though. B is being given an opportunity of a lifetime to dance at Disney and to compete at Hollywood Vibe Nationals! I do feel a bit like Super Mom making this all happen in such a short time span, though. If I don't screw this up I may have a chance at that Mom of the Year award...LOL
