The past 3 weeks...

I guess guess that old adage, "time flies when you're having fun" rings true.

Becca started dance last week and thus, I started working at the studio as well. Just 9 hours a week, but Becca is able to take as many classes as she wants so that's cool. I'm a glorified hall monitor and work at the snack bar when Jordan is in classes, so it's pretty low key.

Becca also started school in the ICE program last Thursday and the boys both start this morning. I took pics on Becca's first day and she said she felt silly; haha I can't wait to hear what the boys will say when I ask them to pose for me. Ahh, yes, doing my job to make sure everyone feels a little humility in their childhood! HA! If mom taking pictures is the worst they feel, they are certainly okay!

Steve's been on vacation for a week and has another week to go, and Tuesday is his birthday. I think he started out pretty bored but soon started trimming shrubs, etc. between rain showers. He bought a screen printing kit at the new art store in town and had fun with that yesterday. He was a little frustrated with the second shirt... he's generous of heart in that he wants to make shirts for the kids, but art for oneself, for the very basic pleasure of doing it, is what makes an individual truly happy, or at least that's my take on the artistic endeavors I've dabbled in. I dare say that I do fear that this recent artistic media he's entered will lose it's charm after awhile.

We had hoped to get away while he was on vacation. Originally it was going to be to Las Vegas for me to attend the Memory Trends Trade Show and Convention, with a few days tacked on just for fun. Then Mom and I decided we wouldn't do that show this year, so Steve and I thought we might go to Canada for a few days. He found a place he wanted to say and everything. Then I realized when we wanted to go was the first week of school for the kids, and that would have just been too cruel to them. Okay, then we were down to dinner and maybe a movie on this birthday on Tuesday. Then I get a call from my high school graduating class president...we are having the first meeting to plan our 20 year reunion on guess which night?! TUESDAY! DAMN! I'm going to tell the studio that I can only work until 5, when the little kids classes are done, so we can still enjoy a dinner together in honor of his day. I feel like such a heel! :-(

As for me, I'm just working, trying to keep up on laundry, help the kids with school work when they need it, entertain Steve in the evenings and cook when I am able, and basically just keep my chin above water. I keep reminding myself that my kids are only young once and when they are grown and gone I'm going to be one bored individual so I better enjoy all I can right now. HA! My Project 365 is still in a holding pattern. I'm still believing that come Oct. 1, we'll be solid in a good new normal schedule and I'll have time to think about picking up my camera again on a daily basis. I did enjoy the 2 months I did that.

Okay, enough for now...gotta go make sure the boys are ready for their first day of school....
