Theives

Our store, Crafts Cottage, was boken into late Saturday night. :-( They were very nice robbers, too... they broke just a tiny hole in a rear window, just large enough to fit fingers through to move the stick that lays in the window track to keep it from opening. Then they slid the window open and got inside, stopping to pick up the largest piece of glass and set it on the table near the window. They tripped the motion sensor alarm, which alerts the security company who called my mom. They stuck around long enough to figure out there wasn't any cash in the store, and to unhook the computer and take that with them. The police were not immediately dispatched, instead my dad went to take a look. He called the police when he found the broken window.

End result, my mom and I are having to fix the no-computer mess, which means doing all sales by hand until the system is up and running again. Thank goodness my mom has a back-up, although it's about a month old. Still, it could be so much worse. I really think they were looking for identity theft info because if they were just drug-seeking individuals, they wouldn't have been so neat. I could see some meth-head totally trashing the place when he couldn't find cash or anything of value.

Basically, I'm just really pissed off at whoever did this because it's all for naught. Our POS does not store credit card info (that's done on a separate machine) so the best these jerks could do is find out that Miss Smith bought 3 sheets of paper and a pair of scissors last Thursday. It's so trivial it makes me even more angry at them. Meanwhile, my mom and I are left to re-create inventory, sales, advertising and class documents/files, etc. Saying it's frustrating is putting it all too mildly. These jerks (oh, I'm so putting this mildly) have cut into family time, time with friends, THAT is what truly ticks me off about this whole thing!!!
