More Project 365 catch up

Day 21 - taken on July 22nd between Becca's dance classes at the convention. This is one of my youngest brothers, Brendt, who celebrated his birthday with us at Disney on the 20th. It was pretty cool of Brendt and my step-mom to drive down to see us while we were in Cali. Becca loved that her grandma got to see her dance at her competition.

Day 22 - OUCH! This was taken late on July 23rd after a day in the sun-DUH! Yeah can't really expect to spend a week in the CA sun and NOT return home without a sunburn. Fortunately this one never hurt and turned to tan in 2 days. :-)

Day 23 - Taken at the Hollywood Vibe Nationals Gala Party on the night of July 24th, the night before we flew home. Aren't we lookin' purdy?! I had a fellow dance mom snap this photo and I kinda wish it was a full body shot of us, but oh well, it's a photo-memory none-the-less.

Funny story surrounding this particular evening... So, our hotel was just shy of a half mile from the Hyatt Regency where all the dancing was going on and where the gala party was held. After the Disney park performance in the morning, Becca and I shopped in the afternoon and returned to the hotel for a nap before getting all glammed up for the gala. I stuffed our fancy shoes into my bag and we donned flip flops (her) and crocs (me) and walked our fine-lookin' selves down Harbor Blvd. to the Hyatt. Becca felt a little unsure about this and at one point remarked that she felt silly all dressed up yet wearing flip flops and doing so out in public. I remarked, "It's okay, we're from Port Townsend." And we laughed. We did turn heads, but I just flaunted and told myself it was because we were looking so good. hahaha We slipped in a lesser travelled door once we got to the Hyatt and stopped at a huge mirror outside the lobby to make a quick shoe change and primp a bit. Then we made our entrance! It was fun to act like rebels for a bit. :-)
